2.Training and Capacity Building: Farmers receive training on modern agricultural practices and techniques. This includes methods to improve crop yields, pest management strategies, and climate-adaptive farming techniques that are crucial in areas frequently affected by drought or floods.

3.Improving Irrigation Infrastructure: In areas like Jubbaland where water scarcity can limit agricultural productivity, WASDA invests in developing and rehabilitating irrigation systems  through cash for work & pipeline connection from the river as well as rehabilitation of river  banks with  gabbins & dykes. This ensures that farmers have reliable water sources for their crops, which is essential for maintaining crop yields during dry periods.

4.Market Access and Value Chain Development: WASDA also works on improving market access for agricultural products by connecting farmers with buyers and improving supply chain logistics. This includes training on post-harvest handling to reduce losses and increase the market value of their produce.

5.Support for Livestock Farming: In addition to crop agriculture, WASDA provides support for livestock farming, which is an integral part of the livelihoods in these regions. Support includes livestock restocking (goats & sheep),veterinary services, feed supply, and training on animal husbandry practices.
