Diif Health Centre has taken a major step forward in improving healthcare services for the local community with the inauguration of a new maternity block, nutrition hall, perimeter fence, and incinerator. These facilities are designed to enhance maternal and child health services, ensure proper waste management, and provide a safer, more welcoming environment for patients and staff.

The inauguration event was graced by Hon. Hassan Abdi Ismail along with local leaders, who praised the development as a critical milestone for the community. Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between local authorities, humanitarian organizations, and donors in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.

WASDA implemented the project with support from Save the Children (SCI) and funding provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) under the CHASP III program. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving health outcomes and access to essential services for vulnerable populations.

The new maternity block will provide safe and modern facilities for expectant mothers, while the nutrition hall aims to combat malnutrition among children and mothers through education and proper dietary interventions. The addition of a perimeter fence enhances security, and the incinerator ensures safe disposal of medical waste, reducing the risk of infections and environmental contamination.

WASDA remains committed to supporting healthcare development in the region and calls on community members to utilize these upgraded services. This initiative marks another step toward healthier families and stronger communities in Dhibley, demonstrating the positive impact of collaborative humanitarian efforts.
