WASDA, with support from ECHO through Save the Children (SCI), has distributed essential hygiene kits in Bula Mirqaan, located in Afmadow District. The initiative specifically targets families with children suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and pregnant and lactating women, aiming to provide crucial support to the most vulnerable groups in the community.
The hygiene kits include essential items that will help families maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation, which is vital for preventing the spread of diseases. By promoting better hygiene practices, these kits contribute to the overall health and well-being of children and mothers who are most at risk.
This intervention is part of WASDA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community health services and reduce the impacts of malnutrition and preventable illnesses. Access to hygiene supplies ensures that families can protect themselves while receiving nutritional support and healthcare services.
Community leaders and local authorities welcomed the distribution, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in safeguarding the health of mothers and children. Their support also highlights the critical role of humanitarian partnerships in responding to health and nutrition challenges in the region.
Through this project, WASDA continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations, ensuring that children and mothers receive the necessary tools and support to thrive in safe and healthy environments.
