In the arid stretches of Afmadow District, the search for water is often a matter of survival. For the residents of Diif Town in Somalia’s Lower Juba region, recurring drought has made access to safe, clean drinking water a daily struggle.

Through the Somalia Humanitarian Integrated Project (SHIP), WASDA is working on the frontlines to change this reality. Our team implemented an intensive 30-day water intervention, providing safe drinking water through a specialized desalination machine to 750 drought-affected households.

Water is the foundation of health, nutrition, and stability. By ensuring that families no longer have to rely on contaminated or distant sources, we are reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and easing the burden on the most vulnerable members of the community.

This vital work is made possible through a collaborative partnership. By joining forces, we are ensuring that even in the most remote areas, no one is left behind in the face of climate adversity.
