The construction of a new maternity block at Diif Health Centre has been successfully completed, marking a major improvement in maternal and child health services for the community. The new block includes two in-built block latrines to ensure better sanitation and comfort for mothers and staff.

Alongside the maternity block, a spacious nutrition hall has been built to support health and nutrition education activities. An incinerator was also constructed, strengthening waste management practices and promoting a cleaner, safer healthcare environment.

To enhance security and privacy, a perimeter fence was installed around the facility. These upgrades help create a more welcoming and protective space for patients, especially vulnerable mothers and children seeking care.

This important project was made possible through the generous support of SDC/SIDA under the CHASP III project, implemented by WASDA Somalia in partnership with Save the Children International (SCI). Additionally, existing facility rooms were fully rehabilitated, ensuring a comprehensive upgrade of Diif Health Centre to better serve the community’s needs.
