WASDA Somalia, in partnership with Oxfam Somalia and with the generous support of ECHO, has successfully distributed hygiene kits to 167 mothers of malnourished children. This initiative took place at Midnimo and Dhobley health facilities in Afmadow district, aiming to enhance hygiene practices and promote the well-being of vulnerable families.
The hygiene kits provided include essential items such as soap, disinfectants, and sanitary supplies, helping families maintain clean and safe environments for their children. Access to proper hygiene is critical in preventing the spread of disease, especially among malnourished children who are more susceptible to infections.
By empowering mothers with these hygiene resources, WASDA Somalia and its partners are not only addressing immediate health needs but also fostering long-term behavioral changes that contribute to healthier households. The program emphasizes the importance of hygiene as a fundamental part of child nutrition and overall family health.
This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of WASDA Somalia, Oxfam, and ECHO to supporting vulnerable communities in Somalia. Through ongoing programs like this, they continue to strengthen local health systems, support families in need, and improve the lives of children across Afmadow and beyond.
