The 2km tarmac road project in Dhobley has now entered its final and most crucial phase: surface dressing. This marks a major milestone in efforts to improve local infrastructure and ease mobility for the community.

Surface dressing involves applying a layer of bitumen binder, which acts as a strong adhesive to seal and protect the road. Once the binder is in place, aggregate chips are spread over it, creating a durable, skid-resistant surface that can withstand heavy traffic and harsh weather.

This final step not only enhances the road’s longevity but also improves safety for drivers and pedestrians. A well-constructed surface reduces dust, minimizes maintenance needs, and supports local economic activities by ensuring smoother transport of goods and services.
